Millions Need Zepbound: Why Won’t the Government Act Now?

Writer's picture: Dave KnappDave Knapp

Emotional pain. Gripping anxiety. Crippling fear.

Are these words jumping out to you yet? I pray they do. Because caught up in this debate over whether copies of GLP-1 meds offered by compounding pharmacies are allowed, are MILLIONS of souls. These souls are trapped in diseased bodies, bodies that are screaming for hormonal regulation offered by modern peptide discoveries.

These bodies do not care if there is a shortage of these meticulously sequenced amino acids. They do not care who holds the legal claim to make them and sell them. They just bleeping need them. Chronic disease doesn’t patiently wait for a prior authorization.

Can you hear us yet?

We. Just. Need. Them.

This administration needs to act. It has to act. It has an obligation to act. If it fails to intervene, we miss a generational opportunity to truly make America healthy again.

We are 100,000,000+ people. To anyone in power living with obesity, know this: We represent you. We fight for you. Join us.

If you can’t consider the humanity of living with obesity… Consider how much productivity we are losing to obesity. Consider the drain on resources. These pale in comparison to the personal tax people living with this disease are paying in the form of heart disease and diabetes.

It matters on an individual scale, and it matters on the meta scale.

Scaleable solutions are here, but two companies can never meet the need alone. This takes a “whole of government” and “whole of a nation” approach to resolution.

We don’t have time to wait. The time to act is now.

All of our experts. All of our resources.

Operation Warp Speed: Obesity

We need immediate regulatory action to expand access to GLP-1 medications. Many things need to be done, but the most pressing issues include lifting restrictions on safely compounded versions, bringing Rx cost into alignment with the rest of the world, and reforming or abolishing PBMs that are driving up cost and blocking access to branded medication.

Expand access. End the suffering.

Get. it. Done.
