Obesity Week 2024!

Writer: Dave KnappDave Knapp

Hello from 10,000 feet! ✈️

My mom, sister, and I are en route to San Antonio for the next four days to immerse ourselves in ObesityWeek 2024. This is a dream come true, made possible by our incredible community. You believed in On The Pen before I did. It was you.

When I began creating content about obesity and type 2 diabetes medications, my goal was to share the knowledge I was gaining. I wanted to provide news and information that empowered me to have more confident and informed conversations with my healthcare team.

Your engagement with the content was profound. People started to notice what the On The Pen community was accomplishing and wanted to be part of it. Over the past two years, our work has been recognized by Bloomberg, Fortune, NPR, and even Eli Lilly, highlighting the importance of delivering patient-centric information to those who need it most—you and me.

This week marks the two-year anniversary of my first video detailing my personal Mounjaro journey—a series that evolved into On The Pen. A year ago, from my living room, I set a goal to bring you live coverage of Obesity Week. This annual conference, organized by The Obesity Society, features leaders in anti-obesity medicine, medical thought leaders, and researchers who share the latest breakthroughs in treating this pervasive metabolic disease.

This achievement wouldn't have been possible without you, the On The Pen community. I am eternally grateful for the platform you've given me, and I can't wait to bring you live, in-person coverage of this conference.

More to Come,

DK
