When we first launched the #releasethevials campaign at On The Pen, we aimed to make branded Zepbound more accessible and affordable for those who need it the most. Today, we’ve seen a major breakthrough in that mission: Eli Lilly has announced the launch of new Zepbound vial doses, including 7.5 mg and 10 mg single-dose vials, priced at $499 per month. Additionally, prices on existing 2.5 mg and 5 mg vials have been reduced to $349 and $499 per month, respectively. The only caveat with the pricing of the higher two doses, is that they must be refilled within 45 days, a mechanism put in place to discourage dose-splitting.
At OTP, we commend Lilly for moving in the right direction. The LillyDirect direct-to-consumer model challenges the PBM system, which unnecessarily increases medication costs in the US.

This news is a direct result of the advocacy and voices of our community and your voices. The #releasethevials movement has proven that when patients stand together, real change happens. These vials are available exclusively through the LillyDirect platform, making it easier and more cost-effective for self-paying patients to access their medication.
But we're not done yet. This is only the next step. The new doses are a victory, but we won’t stop until all dose options are available to everyone. The 12.5 mg and 15 mg vials are still missing from the lineup, and they’re crucial for those who need higher doses to maintain their health and well-being. That’s why over the past 6 months, we have been encouraging Lilly in the next phase of our advocacy to: #releaseallthevials. This campaign is about ensuring that every patient has access to the full range of treatment options they deserve. Our community knows firsthand that one size does not fit all when it comes to obesity management. We need all doses available, without exception.
For those looking to take advantage of this latest development, you can now get Zepbound vials directly through our partners at ro.co/otp. This partnership makes the process easier and ensures you receive your medication without the usual insurance headaches.
The #releasethevials movement has shown what’s possible when patients advocate for themselves and each other. Together, we can continue to push for more transparent pricing, wider access, and ultimately, better health outcomes for everyone.
